Job summary

Somerset Court at University Place is seeking a dedicated Personal Care Assistant (PCA) to support residents with daily living activities, promote independence, and maintain a safe, comfortable environment. The PCA will provide direct care, monitor health, and encourage engagement in community activities.

The role requires compassion, reliability, and the ability to work well both independently and as part of a team. HS diploma or GED preferred; state-approved PCA/CNA training preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred; state-approved PCA/CNA training preferred.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in personal care, senior living, or healthcare.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills; compassionate, patient and attentive to residents' needs.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team; basic caregiving techniques and safety protocols.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility.
• Support meal preparation, feeding assistance, and hydration; help residents maintain personal hygiene and comfort.
• Foster positive relationships through companionship and engagement in activities and events.
• Observe and report changes in health, behavior, and condition; assist with medication reminders.
• Follow infection control and safety procedures; respond promptly to emergencies.
