Job summary

State of Connecticut DMHAS seeks a Certified Peer Recovery Worker with lived recovery experience and CPSRP credential to join the Recovery Support unit at SWCMHS in Stamford. The role focuses on mentoring clients, guiding recovery plans, and promoting wellness through peer-led interventions.

Responsibilities include facilitating workshops, accompanying clients to appointments, and supporting access to recovery resources within a collaborative team environment.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of community support systems and resources; Wellness Recovery Action Planning and other recovery management techniques.
• Considerable interpersonal skills; oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to observe and redirect client behavior; utilize computer software.

Responsibilities

• Guide clients in defining personal goals for their recovery plan using existing evidence-based workbooks or person-centered planning tools.
• Support clients in following tasks outlined in their recovery plan (employment, education, community involvement, and natural supports).
• Accompany clients in medical/clinical appointments in a peer capacity and assist with community engagement.
