Job summary

Indiana University Health is seeking a Part-Time Day Patient Care Technician (PCA) to support bedside patient care with compassion. Responsibilities include assisting with meals, mobility, baths, and linens, while providing vital signs to the bedside RN and reporting changes promptly.

Applicants must have current BLS certification, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced hospital setting, ensuring patient safety and dignity at all times.

Qualifications

• Requires current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the AHA.
• Knowledge of age-appropriate patient care.
• Up-to-date knowledge of procedures and standards for patient care activities.
• Proficiency in interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to manage high workload and stay organized.

Responsibilities

• Provide drinks, assist with meal ordering, encourage walking, assist with baths, and provide clean linens and gowns.
• Provide clinical assistance to bedside RN by obtaining vital signs and reporting abnormalities.
• Maintain patient safety using gait belts, bed and chair alarms, and staying within arm's reach.
• Support patients and families with compassionate bedside care.
