Job summary

HCA Houston Healthcare Clear Lake is seeking a Transporter PRN to move patients safely within the hospital, from department to department, ensuring comfort and care. You will handle ambulation, wheelchairs, and stretchers while maintaining equipment and supporting clinical staff.

The role emphasizes teamwork, safety, and compassionate patient care across neonatal to geriatric populations. Prior patient transport or care experience is preferred, with BLS certification required.

Qualifications

• One-year previous patient care experience is preferred.
• One-year previous patient Transporter experience is preferred.
• American Heart Association or American Red Cross BLS certification is required

Responsibilities

• Transport patients by ambulation, wheelchair, or stretcher as directed.
• Maintain IV tubing and/or Foley catheter safely during transport.
• Inventory all transportation equipment at end of shift.
• Instruct and assist patients concerning gown or apparel for radiographic procedures.
• Move patient support devices (IVAC pumps, oxygen) and maintain lines and leads.
• Work as a team player and meet transport team needs.
