Job summary

Houston Methodist is seeking a PRN Transporter for 2nd shift (1p-9p) and 5p-5a weekends. The role transports acute and critical care patients by wheelchair, stretcher or bed, supporting the interprofessional team during transit and ensuring patient safety.

The transporter also assists with moving equipment and furnishings while maintaining HIPAA compliance and communication with staff. Required are a High School diploma (or equivalent) and BLS certification, with preferred experience in patient

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• One year of customer service, patient transportation or nursing aid experience preferred.
• BLS certification (Required)

Responsibilities

• Transport acute, intensive and critical care patients via wheelchairs, stretchers or beds in a timely manner.
• Assist with patient safety to prevent falls and prepare patients for transport.
• Coordinate with nursing staff and other departments to ensure smooth handoffs.
• Deliver and return department furnishings as needed and support transport operations.
