Job summary

Mercy Health is seeking a PRN Patient Transporter to move patients and related items across the hospital, following schedules and communicating delays to departments. You will ensure patient comfort and safety during transports and provide hand-off updates to nursing staff.

Responsibilities include equipment checks, cleaning and disinfecting transport equipment, and logging transport times. A High School diploma and BLS certification are preferred; prior patient transport experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required or preferred.
• BLS Basic Life Support certification preferred and required prior to independent patient care.
• Experience in healthcare or transport is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Transports patients and patient items to and from hospital locations, maintaining safety and privacy.
• Provides hand-off communication to the receiving nurse and documents delays or changes in schedule.
