Job summary

UChicago Medicine AdventHealth seeks a Transport Assistant to move patients and equipment safely across the facility, supporting timely patient care and efficient operations. You will assist in transferring patients from bed to stretcher or wheelchair and help transport items, paperwork, labs, and supplies using the transportation system.

Qualifications

• High School Grad or Equiv (Preferred)
• 1+ year public contact in a medical setting (Preferred)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification Required
• Driver's License (DL) Preferred

Responsibilities

• Transports patient-related items such as belongings, paperwork, labs, and equipment efficiently.
• Assists in safe transfers of patients from bed to stretcher or wheelchair.
• Maintains clear hallways by moving unused equipment to designated storage areas.
• Communicates effectively with patients, families, and healthcare staff to ensure timely care.
• Accurately records transport details and reports necessary information using the Transportation system.
