Job summary

Providence is seeking a Patient Financial Counselor to join our Revenue Cycle Business Services. The role involves direct interaction with patients and families, either by phone or in person, to resolve patient accounts through financial clearance, payment collection, sponsorship, and financial assistance.

You will identify eligibility, educate patients, and complete applications for State and Federal sponsorship programs, assisting as needed with Providence Financial Assistance.

Qualifications

• H.S. Diploma or GED required.
• 2 years' experience in a hospital, clinic, or healthcare business office.
• 3 years' experience or proven success as a Patient Financial Advocate Associate, preferably with Providence St. Joseph Health or its Affiliates.
• 2 years' experience in automated, computerized account follow-up system required, preferably in Epic.

Responsibilities

• Interact with patients and families by phone or in person to ease resolution of patient accounts.
• Identify eligibility, provide education, and complete/submit applications for State and Federal sponsorship programs.
• Assist patients with financial clearance, payment collection, and coordination of financial assistance and Providence Financial Assistance.
