Westchester Medical Center Health Network is seeking a Patient Care Technician to support basic patient care tasks under supervision of a registered nurse or licensed practical nurse. The role requires the ability to ambulate, lift and transfer patients as essential duties.

Responsibilities include assisting with activities of daily living, following the care plan, reporting changes to the RN, transporting patients, and maintaining a safe environment.

Qualifikationen

• Minimum of 6 months recent experience in a similar setting or behavioral health setting or a nursing student having completed one clinical rotation is required.
• High school diploma or GED is required.
• BLS certification preferred.

Aufgaben

• Demonstrates ability to provide ADL’s (hygiene, toileting and feeding). Recognizes patient’s limitations and initiates appropriate action.
• Assists the registered nurse in providing individualized plan of care and follows safety protocols.
• Reports changes in patient’s condition to the RN promptly and supports patient safety.
• Interacts with team members to establish task priorities and ensure timely completion.
• Assists with transporting, lifting, and ambulation of patients and accompanies patients on discharge.
