Job summary

WMCHealth seeks a Patient Care Technician to provide basic patient care under supervision of a registered nurse or licensed practical nurse. The role requires ability to ambulate, lift and transfer patients and to follow safety procedures as part of daily duties.

Responsibilities include assisting with ADLs, supporting the nursing team, reporting changes, and ensuring a clean, safe patient environment. Candidates should be enrolled in or have completed relevant health care training and maintain

Qualifications

• Experience providing basic patient care and assisting with activities of daily living.
• Ability to observe and report changes in patient condition to nursing staff.
• Willingness to follow policies and procedures and to orient new staff.

Responsibilities

• Assist with ADLs (hygiene, toileting, feeding) and monitor patient safety.
• Support RN with care plans and seek guidance when needed.
• Notify RN of changes in condition and escalate as required.
• Coordinate with team to prioritize tasks and respond to patient needs promptly.
• Answer call lights and communicate patient/family needs to staff.
