Job summary

Westchester Medical Center Health Network seeks a Patient Care Technician to provide direct patient care under a Registered Nurse. You will support daily living activities, monitor patient status, and assist with admissions, transfers and discharges in a hospital unit.

The role requires empathy, strong communication, and the ability to document vital signs and observations, with BLS/CPR certification obtained within 90 days of employment. A PCT program or equivalent is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Completion of an approved Patient Care Technician program or in-service training.
• Certifications such as Nurse Aide may substitute for experience.
• Experience in patient care settings is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care under supervision of a Registered Nurse.
• Assist with daily living activities and comfort needs.
• Record vital signs, intake/output, and report abnormalities to the nurse.
• Assist with admissions, transfers, and discharge procedures.
• Maintain clean, safe and comfortable patient environment.
• Participate in hand-offs and unit meetings as directed.
