Job summary

CHS is seeking a Patient Care Technician to provide high-quality, patient-centered care under RN/LPN supervision. You will assist with daily living activities, maintain a safe, clean care environment, and support effective team communication.

Responsibilities include recording vital signs, helping with meals and hygiene, assisting with mobility, collecting specimens, and following infection control protocols.

Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of patient care practices and equipment.
• Ability to follow detailed instructions and work in a fast-paced environment.
• Commitment to patient confidentiality and safety protocols.
• Clerical duties including accurate data recording may be required.
• Certification requirements include BCLS within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assists nursing staff in delivering care and maintaining a safe, organized environment.
• Collects and records vital signs and other patient data for RN/LPN/LVN.
• Supports patients with meals, hygiene, mobility, and ADLs.
• Assists with positioning, ambulation, and use of mobility aids.
• Collects urine/stool samples and may perform finger-stick glucose monitoring.
• Communicates patient information effectively to the care team.
• Maintains infection control practices and PPE usage.
• Participates in performance improvement and risk management activities.
• May require continuous observation of patients as directed.
• Performs other duties as assigned and maintains attendance.
