Job summary

Mercy Health is seeking a Patient Care Technician (PCT) at St. Anne Hospital in Ohio to provide basic patient care under RN supervision.

The role includes monitoring vital signs, assisting with feeding and grooming, and maintaining a safe and compassionate patient environment. The PCT will collaborate with nursing staff, perform sterile and routine tasks, document care, and help with mobility while encouraging patient independence and comfort.

Qualifications

• Recent experience in acute care or similar clinical setting.
• Experience with patient care and vital signs.
• Ability to collaborate with nurses and staff.

Responsibilities

• Provides basic patient care including comfort, vital signs, and hygiene.
• Acts as liaison between patient and nurse to report changes or concerns.
• Delivers high-quality customer service to patients and families.
• Documents patient care accurately and timely.
• Participates in hand-offs and reports of patient needs on arrival and on departure.
• Performs delegated tasks after competency is validated.
• Assists with mobilizing patients using safe transfer techniques.
• Encourages patient independence and supports activities of daily living.
• Tailors care to patient interests and preferences.
