Job summary

Mercy Health's Lourdes Hospital is hiring a Patient Care Technician (PCT) to support nurses and physicians in a fast-paced medical unit. The role involves basic patient care, monitoring vital signs, and assisting with daily activities in a respectful, compassionate manner.

Experience in acute care or similar settings is preferred. BLS is preferred, EPIC EHR training is a plus. This full-time position offers stable hours and a supportive team environment with opportunities for professional growth.

Qualifications

• Recent experience in acute care, physician’s office, home health/hospice, or long-term care facility.
• BLS Basic Life Support (preferred upon hire, must obtain prior to direct patient care).
• Ability to assist with basic patient needs and monitor vital signs.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Epic EHR training preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic patient care including comfort, hygiene, feeding and mobility support.
• Monitor patient health and vital signs and report changes to the nurse.
• Maintain accurate documentation of care delivered and observations.
• Assist with patient transfers using safe techniques and equipment.
• Collaborate with care team to ensure smooth handoffs and continuity.
