Job summary

Bon Secours Mercy Health in Fairfield, OH is seeking a Patient Care Technician (PCT) for the Float Pool on a PRN basis. The PCT provides basic patient care under RN supervision, assists with hygiene, mobility, and vital signs, and supports patient comfort.

Candidates should have recent acute care experience, completion of a nursing aide program or CNA/STNA as applicable, and BLS certification or willingness to obtain.

Qualifications

• BLS certification preferred; must obtain prior to direct patient care.
• Successful completion of a nursing aide training program OR state nurse aide certification OR CNA certification OR nursing program with clinical rotation; or 1 year of clinical experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic patient care e.g., comfort, hygiene, and mobility assistance.
• Monitor patients and report changes to the nurse in charge.
• Deliver high-quality customer service to patients, families, and staff.
• Document patient care accurately and timely in the charting system.
• Participate in hand-offs and transfer of pertinent information during shifts.
