Job summary

Bon Secours Mercy Health in Ohio is seeking a Patient Care Tech (PCT) to provide direct patient care under RN supervision. The role involves assisting with activities of daily living, vital signs, and basic procedures in a fast-paced clinical setting.

Responsibilities include venipuncture, specimen collection, ECGs, wound care, and patient education. A CNA/STNA or nursing student with clinical exposure, plus BLS, are preferred for this per diem/full-time posting.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED preferred.
• STNA or HCA certification or nursing student with first semester completed.
• BLS certification from American Heart Association.
• 1 year of relevant clinical experience preferred.
• Computer literacy and ability to learn charting systems.
• Experience in direct patient care in hospital or LTC setting.

Responsibilities

• Provide general patient care (bathing, hygiene, feeding) under RN guidance.
• Record vital signs and patient observations; report deviations to RN/physician.
• Assist with activities of daily living and mobility; transport patients as needed.
• Assist with wound care, venipuncture, specimens, and bedside lab tasks as directed.
• Support patient education, discharge planning, and family communication.
• Maintain aseptic technique and safe, accurate charting per standards.
