Mercy Health—St. Elizabeth Boardman Hospital in Youngstown, OH, is seeking a Patient Care Technician (PCT) to support nurses by providing basic patient care, monitoring vital signs, and assisting with daily activities in a fast-paced acute care setting.

The role emphasizes compassionate, patient-centered care with EPIC EHR training and a benefits package including medical, dental and vision coverage, PTO and tuition assistance. BLS and nursing aide training credentials are preferred.

Qualifications

• BLS certification preferred; must obtain prior to direct patient care.
• Completion of nursing aide training program or STNA/CNA or equivalent nursing program.
• One year of relevant clinical experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides basic patient care including vitals, comfort, hygiene and mobility.
• Acts as liaison between patient and nurse to report changes or concerns.
• Delivers high-level customer service to patients, families and staff.
• Documents patient care accurately and timely.
• Participates in hand-off reporting of patient and department needs.
• Performs delegated tasks after competency validation.
• Mobilizes patients using transfer techniques to foster safety.
• Encourages patient independence and participation in tasks.
• Individualizes care based on patient interests and routine.
