Job summary

Mercy Health in Boardman, OH is seeking a Patient Care Technician (PCT) at St. Elizabeth Boardman Hospital. The PCT provides basic health care and support under the guidance of a Registered Nurse, assisting with vital signs, personal care, and mobility while ensuring patient comfort and safety.

This role emphasizes teamwork, accurate documentation, and compassionate patient interaction. Training in EPIC EHR is preferred; BLS is recommended.

Qualifications

• BLS Basic Life Support (preferred; must obtain before direct patient care)
• Nurse aide training or STNA/CNA or Nurses Aide state testing or nursing program with clinicals

Responsibilities

• Provide basic patient care including comfort, vital signs, personal hygiene, and mobility assistance.
• Serve as liaison between patient and nurse to report changes and concerns.
• Deliver high-quality customer service to patients, families, visitors, and staff.
• Document patient care accurately and timely.
• Participate in hand-offs and communicate patient/department needs.
• Perform delegated tasks after competency is validated.
• Mobilize patients using safe techniques and encourage independence.
• Individualize care based on patient interests and needs.
