Job summary

Northwestern Medicine Delnor Hospital in Illinois is seeking a Patient Care Technician. You will perform basic nursing tasks under an RN, assist with personal care, and help maintain clean, orderly rooms on a three 12-hour shift schedule.

The role requires a High School Diploma, relevant certifications or student status, and BLS. You’ll support daily unit operations, participate in patient care, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• CNA/MA/EMT certification or nursing student with clinical one semester completed.
• American Heart Association BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Performs basic nursing care activities as delegated by an RN.
• Assists patients with ADLs such as bathing and eating.
• Reports abnormal findings to nursing staff promptly.
• Keeps patient rooms clean and orderly.
• Manages unit workflow and prioritizes tasks during shifts.
• Liaises between patient care units and other departments.
• Answers calls and communicates with staff, family, and patients.
• Supports census, admissions, and discharges as needed.
