IU Health in Muncie is seeking a Patient Care Technician (PCA) to deliver compassionate, patient-centered care. The role includes assisting with meals, helping patients with activities of daily living, and ensuring comfort by providing drinks and clean linens.

The PCA will support the bedside RN by obtaining vital signs, reporting changes promptly, and maintaining safety with gait belts and alarms in a fast-paced hospital setting. A caring attitude and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• Requires current Basic Life Support certification through the AHA or completion of the IU Health PCA education program.
• Knowledge of age-appropriate patient care procedures.
• Proficiency in interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with attention to safety.
• Ability to read and perform basic math and organize tasks.

Responsabilités

• Provide drinks, assist with meal ordering, encourage walking, assist with baths, and provide clean linens and gowns.
• Support bedside RN by obtaining vital signs and reporting abnormalities.
• Maintain patient safety using gait belts and alarms; stay within arm's reach when moving patients.
• Provide compassionate, patient-centered care and maintain a caring bedside manner.
