Job summary

UPMC is seeking a dedicated patient care team member to provide bedside care and assist patients with activities of daily living under RN direction. This role includes non-clinical unit coordination support aligned with our mission and values.

You will work closely with nurses and physicians to ensure safe, compassionate care and accurate documentation, contributing to a patient-centered telemetry unit.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care and assist with activities of daily living (ADLs), mobility, ambulation, hygiene, nutrition, and comfort measures as per plan of care and orders.
• Monitor, document, and report vital signs, telemetry observations, intake/output, and other patient care activities.
• Assist with treatments, procedures, specimen collection, patient transport, and other clinical support duties.
• Maintain patient safety by implementing fall prevention, responding to calls and emergencies, and following infection control guidelines.
• Collaborate with nurses, physicians, and the interdisciplinary team to deliver compassionate, professional care and ensure accurate documentation.
