Job summary

UPMC is seeking a dedicated patient care team member to provide bedside care and assist patients with activities of daily living under RN direction. You will work on a patient care team within the Trinity unit, emphasizing collaboration, safety, and compassionate, professional care.

Responsibilities include monitoring vital signs, assisting with mobility and transports, and ensuring accurate documentation per unit standards.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care and assist with activities of daily living (ADLs), mobility, ambulation, hygiene, nutrition, and comfort measures in accordance with the patient's plan of care and physician orders.
• Obtain, monitor, and document vital signs, cardiac telemetry observations, intake and output, and other patient care activities, promptly reporting abnormal findings or changes in patient condition to the Registered Nurse.
• Assist with treatments, procedures, specimen collection, patient transport, and other clinical support duties while maintaining a safe, efficient, and patient-centered care environment.
• Maintain patient safety by implementing fall prevention measures, responding promptly to call lights and emergencies, following infection prevention and OSHA guidelines, and supporting the needs of a diverse medical-surgical and telemetry patient population.
• Collaborate effectively with nurses, physicians, and interdisciplinary team members while delivering compassionate, professional care and ensuring accurate documentation in accordance with UPMC Trinity policies and standards.]
