Job summary

Great River Health Systems is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant to provide essential patient care under the supervision of a licensed nurse in a hospital setting. The role supports adult, geriatric, telemetry, and psychiatric patients with a focus on safety and compassionate care.

Responsibilities include ADL assistance, vital signs, specimen collection, and accurate documentation, while ensuring infection control and equipment safety.

Qualifications

• Completion of C.N.A. course is required.
• Health care experience within the last five years is preferred.
• Computer experience is required.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic patient care under the direction of a licensed nurse.
• Perform bedside shift reports at start and end of shift.
• Maintain patient safety and prevent falls using policies and procedures.
• Assist in wound prevention and prevent hospital-acquired pressure injuries.
• Care for restrained patients and monitor safety as directed by the nurse.
• Demonstrate safe use of equipment and infection control practices.
• Accurately document activities in the medical record.
• Collect and label specimens (urine, feces, sputum) for testing.
• Assist with activities of daily living and transport patients as needed.
• Turn and reposition patients to prevent ulcers and monitor patient conditions.
