Job summary

Great River Health is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant to provide basic patient care under the supervision of a licensed nurse. The role covers adult, medical/surgical, geriatric, telemetry and psychiatric populations, with responsibilities including ADL assistance, skin assessment, specimen collection, and safe patient transport.

Qualifications

• Completion of CNA course is required or to be completed within four months of hire
• Computer experience required
• Healthcare experience within the last five years preferred

Responsibilities

• Answer patients’ call lights promptly and relay requests to staff
• Perform skin assessments and report abnormalities to nurses
• Assist with activities of daily living and maintain clean patient rooms
• Collect and label specimens (urine, feces, sputum)
• Transport patients and help with transfers to prevent pressure ulcers
• Monitor patient safety devices and document in medical records
• Perform blood glucose monitoring and report results
• Operate office equipment and maintain supplies inventory
