Job summary

Tufts Medicine MelroseWakefield Hospital is seeking a Patient Care Tech (PCT) to provide direct nursing support under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. This full-time role focuses on basic patient care, accurate documentation, and maintaining unit flow.

The position requires a High School diploma or equivalent and BLS certification, plus healthcare experience. You will work with physicians and nurses to ensure timely, compassionate care and comprehensive patient support on the unit.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• BLS certification.
• Four (4) years of healthcare experience and nursing service experience.
• Certified patient care / clinical associate / certified nursing assistant or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care for patients under supervision of RN.
• Assist with hygiene, elimination, mobility and daily living activities.
• Document vital signs, I&O, weight, and care provided per procedure.
• Reinforce belongings policy with patients/families and document accordingly.
• Perform and document selected procedures and assist with treatments as assigned.
• Obtain, label and transport specimens per policy, and document results.
• Perform 12-lead EKG and report promptly to RN/physician.
• Answer call lights promptly and communicate using AIDET principles.
