Job summary

Tufts Medicine is seeking a Nursing Support professional at MelroseWakefield Hospital in Melrose, MA. You will provide direct patient care under RN supervision, perform unit secretary tasks, and support patient flow on the unit.

The role requires a High School diploma and BLS certification, with preferred 4+ years healthcare experience and CNA/certified nursing assistant credentials. Per Diem hours apply, offering flexible scheduling within the Tufts Medicine network.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care including hygiene, elimination, nutrition and mobility; document per procedure.
• Reinforce belongings policy, document appropriately and secure belongings.
• Provide nutritional support and document I&O and weight as required.
• Perform selected procedures as outlined in competency check list.
• Cooperate with healthcare team to meet departmental goals and maintain relations.
• Prepare equipment for procedures and assist with treatments, dressings and tests.
• Perform 12-lead EKG and document results; forward to RN/physician.
• Obtain, process and label specimens per policy; transport as needed.
• Participate in hourly rounding and monitor patient status; report changes to RN.
• Respond to call lights promptly using AIDET approach.
• Adhere to infection control and safety precautions; participate in codes/disaster readiness.
• Assist in post-mortem care as needed.
