Job summary

Tufts Medicine's MelroseWakefield Hospital in Melrose, MA, seeks a Patient Care Technician (PCT) for the Emergency Department on a per diem basis. You will provide direct patient care under RN supervision, support unit operations, and perform basic nursing-support tasks per physician orders.

Candidates should have a High School diploma and BLS certification; preferred candidates include healthcare experience and nursing assistant credentials.

Qualifications

• Minimum qualifications: High School diploma or equivalent.
• BLS certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care under RN supervision and adhere to standards of practice.
• Support unit flow and perform unit secretary duties as assigned.
• Document vital signs, I&O, and patient information per procedure.
• Assist with treatments, dressings, and specimen handling as directed.
• Maintain infection control practices and communicate patient status to the RN.
