Job summary

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Four years of healthcare experience and nursing service experience.
• Certified patient care / clinical associate / certified nursing assistant or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct care for patients under the supervision of an RN, including hygiene, elimination, vital signs, skin care and mobility.
• Documents care according to procedure and reinforces belongings policy with patients/families.
• Provides nutritional support and assists with feedings; documents I&O and weight as required.
• Performs selected therapeutic procedures as listed in competency and skills check list.
• Cooperates with healthcare team to achieve departmental objectives and maintain professional relations.
• Sets up equipment for treatments and assists physicians/clinicians as assigned.
• Performs 12 lead EKG and documents patient information; promptly reports results to nurse/physician.
• Obtains, labels and processes specimens according to policy; transports as needed.
• Completes annual point of care testing; participates in hourly rounding.
• Monitors and communicates patient status; informs RN of changes in condition.
