Job summary

Memorial Health System is seeking a Patient Care Technician to assist with nursing care, clerical tasks, and patient/family education. The role supports RN/LPN staff, ensures accurate charting in Meditech, and helps maintain unit cleanliness and supplies.

The position requires an Ohio STNA within 6 months and BLS certification, with focus on safe patient handling and confidentiality in a busy hospital environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Ohio STNA certification within 6 months of hire.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required; will obtain during orientation.

Responsibilities

• Performs hourly rounding.
• Performs clerical functions including maintaining chart order, answering telephones, and entering physician orders in Meditech.
• Coordinates patient flow with the charge nurse to maintain inter-department communication.
• Assists with patient care and unit cleanliness within scope of practice as assigned by RN.
• Assists with patient/family teaching as appropriate.
• Maintains supplies and equipment.
• Enters daily outpatient and observation room charges.
• Adheres to safety and infection control standards related to position.
• Maintains open lines of communication with professional staff and fosters a positive patient experience.
