Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; BLS training or certification preferred or obtained during orientation.
• Basic math, reading, and writing skills expected; strong interpersonal communication needed.
• Ability to read physician orders and document accurately in the electronic health record.

Responsibilities

• Performs hourly rounding and assists with direct patient care under RN/LPN supervision.
• Handles clerical tasks: charting, phone calls, and entering physician orders in Meditech.
• Coordinates patient flow with the charge nurse to maintain department communication.
• Assists with patient/family teaching and discharge planning as appropriate.
• Maintains supplies, equipment, and unit cleanliness within scope of practice.
• Documents in Meditech and enters daily outpatient and observation room charges.
• Follows safety and infection control standards and promotes a positive patient experience.
• Maintains open lines of communication and collaborates with the healthcare team.
