Job summary

Keck Medicine of USC seeks a Patient Care Technician to support nursing staff in patient care delivery, basic clerical tasks, and the organization and maintenance of the unit environment. This role includes set-up and safe operation of equipment as assigned.

You will assist with vital signs, daily weights, hygiene, mobility, meals, and documentation, while collaborating with the RN to implement the plan of care and ensure timely communication with the team.

Qualifications

• Req High school or equivalent.
• Graduate from an accredited Certified Nursing Program. (Grandfathered from CNA Certification requirement, if hired/transferred prior to 8/2016.)
• Ability to communicate effectively in English both verbally and in writing.

Responsibilities

• Respond to patient call within 10 minutes.
• Assist with meals/feeding and hygiene care.
• Documentation of care provided, including vital signs and intake/output.
• Maintain clean and organized patient rooms and unit areas.
• Collaborate with RN to implement the plan of care and report changes promptly.
