Job summary

Keck Hospital of USC is seeking a Patient Care Technician to support nursing staff with patient care, clerical tasks, and unit organization. Responsibilities include assisting with vitals, hygiene, mobility, and documentation, while maintaining safety and confidentiality.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent, CA DPH CNA certification, BLS, and LA Fire Life Safety training. English communication skills are required, with typical hourly pay disclosed as part of the offer

Qualifications

• High school or equivalent required.
• Preferred 1 year experience in a health care setting.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English both verbally and in writing.
• Certified Nursing Assistant (CA DPH) required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider certification required.
• Fire Life Safety Training (LA City) if card not on hire must be obtained within 30 days (LA City only).

Responsibilities

• Respond to patient calls within 10 minutes and provide data to RN for care planning.
• Perform essential skills (vital signs, daily weight, I&O, hygiene, ambulation) per RN direction.
• Maintain clean, organized patient rooms and assist with meals and transfers.
• Ensure safe environment and proper operation of patient-care equipment.
• Document all care provided and communicate with RN/Charge Nurse.
• Collaborate with RN at shift start and throughout for data collection and patient needs.
