Job summary

Keck Hospital of USC is seeking a Patient Care Technician to support nursing staff with patient care, clerical tasks, and unit organization. You will respond to calls quickly, document care and vitals, and assist with meals, mobility, and hygiene under RN direction.

The role requires high school or equivalent, CNA certification, BLS, and effective English communication. Prior health care experience is preferred; LA City fire safety training may be needed within 30 days of hire.

Qualifications

• Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
• Pref 1 year of health care setting experience is desirable.
• Registered CNA with CA DPH and BLS-HCP certification required.
• Fire Life Safety Training (LA City) within 30 days of hire if applicable.

Responsibilities

• Respond to patient calls within 10 minutes and assist with care needs.
• Document care provided, vitals, intake/output and activities.
• Assist RN with plan of care and carry out interventions as directed.
• Maintain patient rooms, equipment and a safe environment.
