Job summary

Keck Hospital of USC is seeking a Patient Care Technician to support nursing staff in patient care delivery, clerical tasks, and unit organization. The role includes responding to patient calls quickly, assisting with hygiene, I&O, vital signs, and documentation, and maintaining safe, clean patient areas.

The position requires a High School diploma or equivalent, a current CNA license (CA DPH), and BLS. Fire Life Safety training is required or must be obtained within 30 days of hire for LA City

Qualifications

• High School or equivalent required.
• 1 year experience in a health care setting preferred.
• English communication skills required (verbal and written).
• Certified Nursing Assistant (CA DPH) required.
• BLS Healthcare Provider certification required.
• Fire Life Safety Training (LA City) required or to be obtained within 30 days of hire (LA City)

Responsibilities

• Respond to patient calls within 10 minutes.
• Assist with hygiene, I&O, vital signs, and daily weights.
• Maintain clean, organized patient rooms.
• Document all care provided and patient data.
• Collaborate with RN on patient care and plan of care.
• Ensure safety and proper operation of equipment and call systems.
• Report changes to RN/Charge Nurse promptly.
• Assist with meals, ambulation, and transfers as needed.
