Westchester Medical Center Health Network is seeking a Patient Care Technician to provide basic patient care under RN/LPN supervision. The role requires the ability to ambulate, lift and transfer patients and to follow policies to ensure patient safety.

Responsibilities include assisting with ADLs, supporting care plans, transporting patients, collecting specimens, and maintaining a clean, safe environment.

Formación

• Minimum of 6 months recent experience in a similar setting or behavioral health setting, or a nursing student who completed one clinical rotation.
• High school diploma or GED required.

Responsabilidades

• Assists with ADL’s (hygiene, toileting and feeding) and supports patient safety.
• Assists RN with individualized plan of care and communicates changes in patient condition to RN.
• Transports patients, lifts/moves/ambulates patients, and accompanies patients on discharge as requested.
• Collects specimens as directed and performs EKGs or phlebotomy as needed.
• Maintains clean and safe environment and reports unsafe conditions and equipment issues.
• Restocks units and transfers patients’ personal effects as needed.
