Job summary

Highmark Health is seeking a patient care assistant to provide direct patient care under RN supervision in a hospital setting. The role includes assisting with activities of daily living, monitoring vital signs, and supporting care coordination for patients in stable condition.

You will document care in the electronic medical record, participate in safety initiatives, and assist with admissions, discharges, and transfers as part of the inpatient care team.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Ability to read, write and follow oral and written instructions.
• Ability to perform basic mathematics.
• Basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Provides and documents direct patient care (ADLs, vital signs, mobility, I&O, specimens).
• Supports RN in care of acutely ill and stable patients.
• Participates in rounds, safety protocols, and environmental cleanliness.
• Assists with admissions, discharges, and transfers as needed.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
