Job summary

Highmark Health is seeking a patient care support role to assist the Registered Nurse in caring for patients in a hospital setting. The incumbent will perform basic nursing procedures, document care, and participate in admissions, discharges, and transfers on the unit.

Responsibilities include vital signs, ADL assistance, patient safety initiatives, and maintaining a clean, respectful patient environment while complying with HIPAA and hospital policies.

Qualifications

• Ability to read, write and follow oral and written instructions.
• Ability to perform basic mathematics.
• Basic computer skills.
• Preferred acute care experience within last 3 years (if applicable).
• Currently enrolled in ASN or BSN program; clinical rotation experience valued.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care and activities of daily living.
• Document patient care and vital signs in the electronic medical record.
• Support RN in care of acutely ill patients and unit coordination.
• Assist with admissions, discharges, and transfers on the inpatient unit.
• Participate in quality and patient safety initiatives and maintain a clean environment.
