Qualifications

• Must be 16 years of age.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certified within six weeks of hire.

Responsibilities

• Delivers assigned patient care and treatment as delegated by an RN or LPN.
• Assists patients with activities including personal hygiene, bathing, ambulation, feeding, and routine cares.
• Responds to patient calls and ensures safety through rounding and proper handling.
• Calculates intake and output and measures vital signs; performs bedside glucose testing.
• Initiates or assists with emergency support measures as needed.
• Sets up equipment and prepares rooms for procedures; assists with admissions and transfers.
• Observes and reports changes in patient condition to the nurse.
• Collects and labels specimens.
