Job summary

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Certificate of completion of a medical assistant/patient care assistant program/equivalent with skills in venipuncture and EKG.
• Strong interpersonal communication and collaboration skills.
• Documentation of Medical Assistant/Patient Care Associate training.
• 3–9 months healthcare experience preferred.
• Ability to set priorities, problem solve, and stay flexible.

Responsibilities

• Assist RN with patient care activities and maintain a safe, clean environment.
• Record vital signs (BP, pulse, temp, respirations) and document intake/output.
• Perform procedures such as venipuncture, EKG, and skin care tasks as directed.
• Assist with activities of daily living and patient mobility.
• Deliver meals and dietary support; communicate dietary changes to RN/Dietitian.
• Maintain isolation status and assist with hourly rounds and patient comfort.
