Job summary

Mount Sinai Health System in New York seeks a Patient Care Associate to support the clinical care team within the Specialty Service. You will assist registered nurses with activities of daily living, monitor patient status, collect specimens, and help maintain a safe, clean environment to promote patient-focused care.

Responsibilities include taking vital signs, assisting with procedures such as venipuncture and EKG, and documenting data.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Certificate of completion of a medical assistant/patient care assistant program with venipuncture and EKG skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English.
• Sufficient stamina for clinical tasks.
• American Heart Association Heartsaver or BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Assist RN with patient care activities and daily living.
• Perform vital signs and document measurements.
• Assist with specimens collection including venipuncture.
• Maintain safe, clean environment and move patients as needed.
• Maintain and update patient records and discharge/transfer data.
