Job summary

Keck Hospital of USC is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant to provide compassionate patient care across a busy inpatient unit. You will respond to calls promptly, assist with daily living activities, monitor vitals, document care, and support the patient care team in implementing plans of care.

Strong communication and confidentiality are essential. Qualifications include high school or equivalent, CNA license, BLS, and LA Fire Life Safety training or ability to obtain within 30 days.

Qualifications

• High School or equivalent required.
• 1 year healthcare experience preferred.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
• Certified Nursing Assistant (CA DPH) required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider required from AHA.
• Fire Life Safety Training (LA City) required or must be obtained within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Respond to patient calls within 10 minutes.
• Perform essential skills: vitals, daily weight, I&O, hygiene, mobility, and meals.
• Assist with ambulation, transfers, and positioning every 2 hours.
• Document all care provided, including vitals and intake/output.
• Maintain clean, organized patient rooms and safe equipment use.
• Collaborate with RN and care team to implement plan of care.
• Communicate plan of care to patients and visitors; introduce self.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and professionalism.
