Job summary

St. Joseph's Wayne Medical Center is seeking a Patient Care Associate/Technician to assist patients with daily living activities and to provide basic care for acutely ill patients.

The role supports a safe, clean environment and requires performing EKGs and venipuncture under the direction of a registered nurse. Applicants should have a high school diploma, BLS certification within 6 months, and PCA/PCT credentials or enrollment in nursing programs.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• BLS, ACLS and PALS certifications through American Heart Association.
• PCA/PCT diploma with 6 months to 1 year of healthcare experience within last 6 months.
• Enrolled in accredited nursing program with Nursing Fundamentals level 1 coursework as substitute.
• Evidence of completion in Nursing Fundamental coursework or Nursing Assistant training.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with activities of daily living.
• Provide basic care to acutely ill patients.
• Maintain a safe, clean environment.
• Perform EKGs and Venipuncture as directed by the Registered Nurse.

Education

High School diploma or equivalent

Basic Life Support certification

PCA/PCT diploma with 6 months to 1 year of healthcare experience

Nursing school enrollment with Nursing Fundamentals coursework

Nursing Assistant training program evidence

PCA/PCT/Home Health Aide/CMA experience
