Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a Nurse Assistant to support registered nurses in providing daily patient care in a hospital setting. The role includes assisting with bathing, feeding, mobility, and comfort measures, while collecting basic patient data and ensuring accurate entry into the Electronic Medical Record (EMR).

Responsibilities also cover rounding, timely communication of patient needs to the RN, and participation in admission, transfer, and discharge activities under supervision.

Qualifications

• Basic computer skills are required.
• Excellent oral and written communication is essential.
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to set priorities are required.

Responsibilities

• Assist RN with daily patient care (bathing, oral hygiene, feeding, mobility).
• Measure and document vitals (BP, TPR, I&O, daily weights) and record in EMR.
• Perform rounding and communicate observations to RN.
• Assist with admission, transfer and discharge processes under RN supervision.
• Collect specimens and perform point-of-care tests as directed; maintain proper labeling.
