Job summary

Memorial Hermann is seeking a Patient Access professional responsible for scheduling patient appointments, verifying eligibility, and posting payments. This role supports the intake process by collecting demographic and financial information, explains forms to patients, and ensures compliance with medical necessity requirements.

Strong multi-tasking and accurate data entry are essential. The ideal candidate has at least two years of hospital or customer service experience, plus proficient typing

Qualifications

• Two (2) years of experience in a hospital or customer service setting.
• Ability to multi-task; proficient typing/keyboard skills.

Responsibilities

• Schedules patient appointments and enters information in the computer system accurately.
• Obtains demographic, insurance and financial information from patient or guarantor and enters into system.
• Explains forms to patient or guarantor and collects signatures.
• Ensures medical necessity compliance by collecting data and obtaining signatures.
• Collects patient liability, discusses payment options and screening for eligibility.
• Verifies insurance eligibility and benefits and ensures notifications/authorizations are completed on time.
• Posts payments in the system and generates receipts.
• Monitors and resolves patient account issues on assigned reports.
• Communicates professionally with physicians, departments, staff, insurers and patients; documents thoroughly.
• Ensures safe care and adheres to Memorial Hermann policies within budget and quality standards.
• Promotes professional growth through mandatory/continuing education and serves as a mentor.
• Demonstrates commitment to compassionate and personalized experiences for every community member.
• Other duties as assigned.
