Job summary

Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) in Kennett Square is seeking a part-time Patient Services Representative to support patient access, scheduling, and revenue cycle activities. The role emphasizes a welcoming experience, accurate registration, and adherence to CHOP policies and HIPAA standards.

The PSR will assist with EPIC tasks, eligibility checks, and communications with families, while maintaining daily schedules and providing patient-centered service across CHOP sites as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED required.
• Minimum 1 year PSR or related healthcare experience preferred.
• Strong communication and confidentiality skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide welcoming, prompt, and respectful customer service, including scheduling and registering appointments.
• Perform PARC EPIC functions and run daily eligibility verifications.
• Reconcile daily services, manage payments, reimbursements, referrals and authorizations; communicate financial responsibilities.
• Answer calls, verify and document contact information and messages, provide information as warranted.
• Communicate with patients and families in accordance with CHOP's iCARE values.
• Escalate issues and provide Family Relations contact information when needed.
• Assist families with MyCHOP activation and portal troubleshooting.
• Perform administrative tasks such as mail, faxes, medical records and document handling; safeguard PHI.
• Maintain patient records and daily schedules while upholding HIPAA standards.
• Participate in team huddles and meetings; keep workspaces organized.
• Cover and rotate to other sites as needed.
