Job summary

You will collaborate with clinical teams, collect deposits, assist with charity care applications, ensure HIPAA compliance, and document in EHR and billing systems.

Qualifications

• Three years in a healthcare or medical office setting, including insurance verification or financial counseling.
• CHAA or related certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Interview patients to assess financial status and determine payment options.
• Verify insurance eligibility, benefits, and authorization requirements.
• Provide cost estimates and explain patient financial responsibility.
• Collect deposits, co-pays, and deductibles; establish payment plans.
• Assist patients in applying for financial assistance or charity care.
• Ensure completion of financial documentation per hospital policies.
• Perform medical necessity screening and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Collaborate with clinical departments to obtain required documentation.
• Maintain accurate records in EHR and financial systems.
• Prepare daily deposits and reconcile transactions.
• Adhere to HIPAA and confidentiality standards.
