Job summary

LCMC Health is seeking a Patient Access Representative to welcome patients, verify demographics and insurance, and guide them through scheduling and registration in a compassionate, efficient manner.

You will coordinate appointments, verify benefits, collect payments, and connect patients with financial assistance as needed, ensuring accurate information flows and a smooth admission process across departments in a busy Louisiana facility.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED or equivalent.
• Or 2 years of applicable experience in lieu of education.
• 2 years of customer service and/or healthcare experience.

Responsibilities

• Greet and assist patients, families, and visitors by phone and in person.
• Schedule appointments and coordinate patient services.
• Register patients and update demographics, insurance, and guarantor information.
• Verify insurance eligibility and collect required documentation.
• Support admissions, transfers, discharges, and bed placement.
• Explain financial responsibilities and connect patients with financial assistance.
• Direct calls and route patients to appropriate departments.
• Collaborate with clinical and support teams for a seamless patient experience.
