Job summary

Antelope Valley Care Center seeks a Staff Occupational Therapist Assistant to assist the Staff OT with resident care and related activities. You will treat residents, document diligently, maintain a safe environment, and participate in care conferences and staff training.

The role requires an OTA license in the state, continuing education, and proficiency with Net Health and Point Click Care systems. You will collaborate with the interdisciplinary team and support discharge planning and safety

Qualifications

• Associate degree from an accredited COTA program.
• Proficient in computer skills and data entry for Net Health and Point Click Care.
• Ability to read and interpret technical procedures and policies.
• Ability to present information clearly to managers, coworkers and families.
• Ability to apply fractions, percentages and ratios to practical tasks.
• Ability to solve practical problems and interpret varying instructions.

Responsibilities

• Treat residents as directed by the Occupational Therapist.
• Complete timely, accurate, compliant documentation.
• Maintain a safe treatment environment via infection control and safety protocols.
• Participate in Resident Care conferences and Rehabilitation meetings.
• Assist nursing staff with training Restorative Aides.
• Communicate with the supervising OT to update physicians and families.
• Provide in-services on training programs for staff as needed.
• Educate residents and families on treatment goals and home programs.
• Recommend and facilitate ordering of durable medical equipment.
• Maintain confidentiality of residents and company information.
• Report equipment problems and support quality improvement initiatives.
