Job summary

Mercy Hospital Washington is seeking an Optician to provide expert eyewear fitting, lens analysis, and compassionate patient care. You will help patients choose frames and lenses that match their prescription and lifestyle. This full-time role offers daytime shifts with occasional travel to Mercy St.

Louis to cover staffing needs. You will support the store manager with frame pricing, monthly inventory, and data entry.

Qualifications

• Superior knowledge of optics with emphasis on the fitting and sale of eyewear.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Experience with cash handling and data entry.

Responsibilities

• Use optics knowledge to fit, adjust, and sell eyewear with confidence.
• Help patients select frames and lenses that fit prescription, lifestyle, and style.
• Analyze eyewear prescriptions to ensure accuracy and satisfaction.
• Deliver a welcoming, high-quality customer experience from check-in to checkout.
• Support the store manager with frame pricing and monthly inventory counts.
• Assist with daily office operations including answering phones and data entry.
• Cover staffing coverage by assisting other Mercy office locations as needed.
