Job summary

Advocate Health in Chicago seeks a Certified Nursing Assistant to support registered nurses with direct patient care, including bathing, feeding, mobility, and comfort measures. You will document vital signs, measurements, and intake/output in the EMR, assist with admissions and transfers, collect specimens, help with transports, and maintain infection control and patient safety according to unit policies.

This role requires good communication, teamwork, reliability, and adherence to safety

Qualifications

Basic computer skills and comfortable with EMR/documentation.
Excellent oral and written communication abilities.
Strong organizational skills and ability to set priorities.
Annual educational requirements for hospital certifications may apply.

Responsibilities

Assists RN with daily patient care including bathing, feeding, ambulation and repositioning.
Measures and documents vitals and intake/output; records in EMR.
Performs purposeful rounding and communicates needs to RN.
Assists with admission, transfer and discharge under RN supervision and orients patient.
Collects urine, stool, and sputum specimens and conducts point-of-care testing.
Runs errands, maintains stock in nursing area, and cleans equipment.
